ToP Champions

Since 2004, the ToP Network has acknowledged organizations and individuals and who have produced transformative results and made a measurable difference in their organization or community through the use of ToP methods.   In particular, we honor organizations that reflect:

  • Respect for inclusive participation
  • The ability to hear and include differing voices
  • The security to step into a world of no predetermined outcome,
  • A capacity to engage creative processes with people to explore and create their own preferred future
  • The discipline to embrace effective facilitative leadership to build the foundation of true participation

2013 ToP ChampionDavid Dyjack displays ToP Champion recognition

The ToP Network is pleased to honor the National Association of County and City Health Officials as a 2013 “ToP Champion.”  NACCHO was chosen for this recognition for the results they have demonstrated through their ongoing leadership in developing effective facilitators within their own organization, as well as nurturing a culture of participation with their 2800 local public health department associate members and strategic partners across the country.

NACCHO’s vision is health, equity, and security for all people in their communities through public health policies and services. NACCHO’s mission is to be a leader, partner, catalyst, and voice for local health departments in order to ensure the conditions that promote health and equity, combat disease, and improve the quality and length of all lives.  Through its many ToP initiatives it has demonstrated in significant and meaningful ways that it shares our core values of inclusive participation and profound respect.

The designation of “ToP Champion” was presented to NACCHO staff members, Laura Runnels and Laura Snebold, at the ToP Network annual membership gathering in Durham, NC, in January.   Pictured here is David Dyjack, Associate Executive Director for Programs (who is also a ToP grad), accepting the award on behalf of NACCHO.

Congratulations, NACCHO, from the ToP Network!  We are grateful for your continued focus on excellence, the innovations you have brought to the arena of public health and the integrity-filled work that you represent.  NACCHO has expanded and enriched the practice of authentic group process and facilitation for all of us.
